5 reasons for Early Retirement

I would love for this to be about that extended permanent retirement we have all thought about. But alas, this is all about your HVAC systems saving $$ to get you to retirement. Early retirement for your heating and air conditioning equipment now makes more sense than ever.

1) Aging Systems The majority of HVAC systems are 10 years or older. That means they use freon for the most part, aka R22. In 2020 there will be no more production of real R22. There are substitutes or varying effectiveness, but that's another story.. The quantity of propane that you pay $20.00 for, is now $989 a 30 lb propane tank and going up.

2) Money in your pocket. Money back Most utility companies are offering rebates for replacing existing or new installations of energy star rated equipment.

3) Utility Savings. The newest inverter systems use literally 1/3 the electric usage that  systems more than 15 years old use.

4)  Save the Planet  Lower your carbon footprint. Get Heat and AC from the same system with 0 emissions. Today's  heat pumps pull heat out of the air down to zero degrees F with no emissions.

5) Going Solar?  If you are going solar, you want to look at this now. Replacing and updating your system make this is a logical choice. Today's inverter systems start out as on low as a setting as possible, draw as few as 5 amps and with solar, this is like getting your heat for free.

And with the storms we have just experienced,  300,000 new systems will be installed , driving up the cost of equipment for next year.  As demand increases expect rebates to be reduced or phased out, which we are already seeing on Long Island.
