How to Tell if Your Home is too dry

Look for dry air in your home with these symptoms: Dry, cracking skin on hands and feet,Frequently Chapped lips,Dry Sinuses ,Sinus headaches, Bloody nose, Needing to use lotion on your skin, eczema breakouts

Your home breathes as we do as well. Cracking paint, doors wood cabinets and wall paper are affected by humidity levels as well. Even your wood floors and crown mouldings are affected by humidity levels.

The colder the temperature the more humidity levels are an issue.

How to solve the humidity issue. Install a humidifier. There are many brands and many choices of applications to increase the humidity.

How to choose? Portable single units cost less but don’t as good a job in allowing proper control of the amount of humidity. These generally need to be cleaned often. Dampness within the humidifier can be growing place for mold and mildew if not properly maintained.

A central or steam humidifier, whole home solution is a bigger investment, but does a much better job of controlling the correct level of humidity. Humidity is like a gas spreading throughout your home. The humidifier if sized correctly, will disperse humidity throughout the home.
